No, what you proved is that someone SAID the Kuwaitis were stealing Iraqi oil.

But these kinds of disputes are worked out all the time. People don't usually go to war over it.

Saddam was a liar. He wanted to invade Kuwait cause his earlier invasion of Iran's oil rich Khuzestan province didn't work out. He wanted to seize Iran's oil fields there and failed so he went after Kuwait's oil fields.

Saddam blew up every oil well in Kuwait and here are satellite pics of where the fires were:



As you can see the northernmost fires were west of Bubiyan island. This map shows the border:



Compare the northern portions of the two maps and you can see there were no wells right on the border with Iraq. The northernmost fires were west of Bubiyan island and the border runs north of there. Too far from the border to reach anything in Iraq.
