Turkey supports the nascent state of Kurdia (?) (40 million people in Northern Iraq) now forming. Has solved their own Kurdish problem of Kurdish "rebels" threatening to carve out Turkish enclaves. A win win for both ethnic groups.
I'm thinking that Turkey is hoping all their Kurds will migrate to the new Kurdish "homeland". Even wiser would be to donate some of Turkey to it.
