Patrick,

Great Analysis, I have no problem with it. A couple of comments thought.

I thought MUEI contributed about half of the $.33 it earned last quarter. Also MU indicated it is moving its product to SDRAM from DRAM but as far as 16mb to 64mb we do not know where they stand. As far as crossover of 64mb with 16mb it hasn't occurred, but MU in did indicate that when need is there they will be ready for it.

As far as far as my feeling of an upside scenario, I do not know what to expect out of this asian scenario but if it gets any worse all Memory companies could get damaged severely. If MU weathers this storm than my feeling is they will come out on top.

You know your comment about Dell has another twist to it. Besides DELL buying Memory from the KOREANS maybe MU should buy off the them too. IF the Koreans are in so much financial trouble and are going to start DRASTICALY dumping chips at under $2 and MUs cost is over $3 than MU get make an easy $1 a chip.<ggg> ..Only kidding.

Good Luck Trading

DavidG

>>Dan Niles now calling for only 10
cents for the coming year, what is the stock doing at 22.5!!!!<<

my sentiments, EXACTLY. what was this bow wow doing at $60 4 months ago?!?!

>>One company to benefit from this, is DELL, as spoken by
Michael Dell, himself, on CNBC about a week ago.<<

pat, mike dell is a soothsayer. watch what he says VERY CLOSELY. he's wrong about asia. i believe he knows it, too. his part costs go down, sure. his sales to asia are very small. BUT THE AMERICAN COMPANIES THAT HE SELLS TO HAVE ASIAN EXPOSURE THAT WILL CAUSE THEM TO RETHINK HOW MANY DELL COMPUTERS THEY BUY!

will oracle be upgrading their computers anytime soon? the list goes on and on. MICHAEL DELL DIDN'T TELL YOU THAT.

no need to worry, THE BUGSTER DID. :-)

here's hoping we see the teens this week :-)

PK, I'm still wondering about where MU's going to go. My bet is a low in the teens some time around March before the nitwits start chasing the shorts. I'll probably cover most everything Jan. 2 and then sit on cash for a while. I've been reading The Alchemy of Finance, and I'm thinking we're due for a big-time bust... if the stock prices go down for a bit its going to really screw up earnings. If you think about it, a lot of tech earnings are tied to their stock prices. Two I can think of right off the bat are the extensive use of options and the fact that tech companies can avoid debt by pumping out equity. A three year period of the doldrums for the tech market like we seem to be c. a third of the way through could really spell trouble if speculative interest becomes dormant. This year, of course, speculative interest definitely pulled things the other way and the stocks went up a lot. The fact the stocks went up of course enabled the companies to cover a lot of debt via offerings and for employee options to regain a lot of value.
