personally i consider myself spiritual, but not religious

i have no evidence, but i much prefer to believe that there is more to us than flesh and bones

i think all life is connected to a higher power, a spiritual power that we can tap into

but organized religions are a big turn off to me... it's the "mob mentality"

and look no further than the constant middle east chaos to demonstrate that when you enact religious platforms and meld them with politics, it is a recipe for disaster... no wonder the founders of this country specified separation of church and state

as for the bible it is very problematic... the old testament has all sorts of brutal crap in it that is supposedly in the name of "god"

the new testament is different... Jesus really seems to be a "liberal"... even a "community organizer" lol, healing the sick, feeding the poor, preaching against the greedy capitalists, etc

there are definitely many religious organizations that do good works

but there are so many examples of hypocrites who take advantage of the masses through religious speak to start wars, promote bigotry, intolerance, greed, etc

if only people would do as Jesus said... 'When you give to someone in need, don't do as the hypocrites do--blowing trumpets'
