Probably, the best response by the company is to report better earnings next time they come out but I can understand how they may simply want to put a statement that they stand by their accounting practices, verified by their accounting firms, etc.... Most companies are better off not trying to fight shorts in the press, to say the least. Let the analysts who follow the company do this. From a "reversal watch" perspective, the lower it goes the more likely it will find a bottom......
