"Why?"

Because the first invasion was against a particularly tyrannical and brutal regime. There was a lot of complaints about the USA invading unilaterally. That complaint was arguable as a foreign affairs action/policy. However the target was not considered representative of a larger group.

Now, when/if we attack Northern Iraq we are accepting an alliance with IRAN. I don't need to explain the problem with that. In addition we are declaring the Sunnis in Northern Iraq as a target. We shouldn't do that without permission from the Sunni nations we already have alliances with. So far those nations are warning us to stand down.
