I do not think we have entered late cycle phase inflation. Too much slack in the labor market and relatively low wage gains. I think the food and energy portions of the CPI will not compound at a rate much faster than wage growth in the long term.
QE may have saved us from a depression but is causing real returns on investment to be valued at higher and higher multiples. Likely it will end badly and with it the same issues that QE was trying to solve.
If it was not for the shale boom I would bet that the U.S. would have technically returned to recession by now.
