Great article, John, about the entangled world of Govt. and business. Strangely enough, there is quite a bit of shared outrage between the right, mainly libertarian, and the left. In the area of solutions, though, things fall apart.

Couldn't agree more. I think that is why Cantor lost. Clearly he was in bed with crony capitalist and his opponent hammered away at that theme. (This has occurred in the past; Teddy Roosevelt and his Trust busting). The article wanders away from this general theme as it goes into the issue of the World Bank and then defends crony capitalism as a necessary evil. On this though I disagree with the author. Capitalism doesn't need the help of government and the more time the two spend getting cozy - the worse it is for everyone else; the taxpayer and the worker.
