It means less testing for us- and better, more rounded, testing. But I've no idea what's happening elsewhere.

Which is not to say some of our teachers don't whine about it. They say things about the core, but the fact is, they don't want to plan better lessons, and they don't want to learn something "new" (even though if they actually paid attention- their lessons, if they have any good ones, are already core-compliant). But people are resistant to change. And a lot of people are just dumb. And when you combine those two things...

And I am absolutely sure some states are doing a terrible job implementing the Core- but that's not the Core's fault.
