I am with you on everything you posted :>).

epicure I do not support or believe in any religion that subjugates Women. I guess I am out of step because I think Women in general are the better half.

Look at the % of the male population incarcerated vs. the % of female incarcerations and if memory serves me well it is at about a 10-1 ratio.

Oops wrong quick google:

In 2009, 6.8% of all federal/state prisoners were women: the number of sentenced female prisoners under the jurisdiction of state or federal correctional authorities, was: Total 105,197

I agree. Women also seem to be more spiritual by nature and fill church pews in greater numbers than men. Far from being subjugated, they do the heavy lifting in terms of charity work of the various church organizations across the land.

In my own church, women are far from subjugated, and are quite well educated on average. We're actually considered exalted and made to know and feel this in countless talks, books and articles by the general authorites of the church. Why? Because we procreate and shape each generation. We're honored for this in so many ways by the men of the church that your claims truly are incorrect. Really, really wrong.

Our young men are raised to respect women and not approach them as sex toys or arm candy. They're asked to remain virginal right along with young women--no double standard.

Mormon women run what would be considered one of the largest corporations in the country, our enormous and complicated welfare system. Women hold all the offices in this organization right up to the top position of President.

The men, as priesthood holders, do the running of other things. My female friends and I all groan at the notion of opening the priesthood to women. We don't want it. We're running like hamsters trying to shape generations of tiny human beings AND do the work of our relief/compassionate service organizations. All of this work is done as volunteer work--no paid positions except at the very top. Adding priesthood chores to the mix makes our heads spin.

If you ever actually meet a Mormon women who is active in her church work, ask her if she feels subjugated.
