US Attorneys are appointed by, and "serve at the pleasure" of the president. Bill Clinton asked for, and received, the resignations of ALL 93 US ATTORNEYS in 1993.

Where you got the idea this is out of the ordinary I don't know but your clearly have no idea WTF you're talking about.

US Attorneys are part of the executive branch which means the president can fire one (or 93).
