Tommaso: I just looked at something interesting. A saver investing $100,000 in an IRA at 6.5% in 1987 would have $191,121 today. If they had put it in bank stock (I used fidelity regional bank) they would have $2,000,000. Much of this gain is in the past three years.
This is scary. Bet these guys are desperate to keep interest rates going lower, to postpone a derivatives kahuna.
