TXN is not a growth stock. It is a mature company in a mature
industry. With a P/E of 10, the stock could go as low as $28,
based on next years (optimistic?) earnings.>>>

You're comparing the present-day TI and the future TI with an historical TI that no longer exists.

At the Robertson Stephens Conference earlier this year, Pat Weber told me the company felt like a start-up it was changing so fast. If you think DSPs are an old story, then I suggest you research what's happening in the RAS, industrial-motor, sonar, and medical fields, to name a few. Heck, I can't think of much that's not impacted by DSPs.

But why am I saying all this? You know it as well as I do.

I'm investing in the New TI, not the old one.

Pat

You missed a major area in your analysis.Ti has always had starts and stops because they missed a market or went the wrong direction (home computer,LED watch, wrong microprocessor, wrong computer) any one of these could have been a home run------maybe DSP and digital is a grand slam and your analysis will be short. What do you think??
