engineer: Care to offer an opinion on who didn't figure out the GaAs and who does well? I've played a little in that sector, am now out and thinking of a re entry point.

What have you heard with regard to Si Germanium? I heard Nortel was going to use it in some of their phones. Gilder has said that GaAs has fallen off to the side and SiGe would be replacing it sometime in the near future.....IBM was a big developer of the technology...no US semi companies have adopted it yet that I know of.
