Chris:

Eliot has made a few good calls using TA, but MACD, Fibunacci (sp?), BOP, triple-bottoms and all of these other indicators seem like a lot of work for very little reward. At best, recognizing chart patterns may work well just because every other TA'er is recognizing the same chart pattern and self-fulfilling prophecy takes over. Only hind-sight is 20/20.

Let's face it, if it were that easy...we would all be rich. In the meantime, I'll watch the copies of Ghost, WCW & Pax fly off of the shelves and wait for my New Year's present from THQ to be reflected on my brokerage statement!

Happy Holidays to All!

Dave B.

Why do you use history to estimate absolute moves in price as opposed to percentage moves? I would think that historical percentage moves are a better predictor than absolute moves.
