What metrics are we going to use to determine how successful it is? What's the gold standard for successful Android homescreen replacements? Facebook Home? FB Home has little in common. Aviate dynamically changes your home screen based upon your habits, not unlike the start page for some browsers. Aviate seems to be going head-to-head against Google Now, does it not? Not sure I like yahoo's chances. Not really, but I do think Google and others will release similar products that will eventually trump it. My point wasn't that it's going to be a dominate product, but rather that it's a nice, popular, app that will likely gain serious traction, and yet appeared on Android first. If you watch the interview, the people in charge explain that this is because other platforms don't work with the concept (at least not yet) because it requires openness and user choice.
