Actually, I have visited Vancoucer, Wistler, Toronto, Kingston and Niagara and met may professionals and pure street Canadians and talked to them extensively. I have also interviewed many Canadian candidates (PhD's) who have been interested in faculty positions in various universities here. My general perception (based on this limited experience) is that no Canadian would like to work in the US. It is so much more relaxing in Canada! This is their response. Thus, a minor perturbation in the exchange rate is unlikely to change that equilibrium.
