Seems that Obama was in pretty much the same position or worse than where Hillary will be.

Really don't see it that way

Obama campaigned on change, and there was a hunger in the electorate for that, after 8 years of an idiots administration and the specter of a McCain-Palin follow on

There was genuine turmoil in the country as opposed to the serial pseudo-scandals the GOP keeps trying to sell

Obama has settled real things down by skilled leadership

I don't think the situation facing the 2016 candidates is anywhere near comparable, which works to the advantage of the Republicans IMO

Any Democrat stood a good chance in 2008

The 2016 Democrat will need to bring more than not being a Republican, which was nearly sufficient in 2008
