The Eleventh Day of Christmas T'is the Eleventh day of Christmas as the excitement does grow Time to pass down the family traditions for our young to know Like brown clothes pin reindeers on ribbons of red and green Family made popcorn strings hanging from the tree can be seen Crayon written letters to Santa for the presents he should bring The drive in the country to view the holiday sights as we sing Watching the Grinch's Wonder life of a Miracle on 34th street Roasting marshmallows on a filickering fire is always a treat Telling the story of many years ago on a chilly December night Shepherds from all around gathered under a magnificent light A gleaming star lead three wise men to this remarkable birth For this was the day God sent his son to a place called Earth There they all discovered a King in a stable of straw and hay Wrapped in swaddling clothes in a small manger there he lay Far and wide Angels trumpeted out this joyful Yule tiding So that all would know where this wondrous gift was hiding These are just some of the events that will conclude as we pray For the superb present God gave us on that first Christmas Day Copyright 1997 by Gary Swancey Happy Holidays and a Prosperous New Year.
