"The star that burns twice as bright burns half as long."

--Blade Runner

To the longs: I challenge you to name any stock, ever,
that has not come down to earth eventually. Almost by
definition, the coolest new creations of our minds are
destined one day to be as plain--and treated as plainly--
as Wal-Marts. Enjoy the party while it lasts. I hope you
all make a kazillion dollar and retire on an Outer World.

To the shorts: It's hard to get your fingers broken while
you wait for the denouement, isn't it? Frustrating to see
great companies with revenues in the hundreds of millions
get killed while upstarts sans track records sail through
the melee unscathed. Smugly, no less. Tough to know, when
dreams of unicorns intrude, if you're really alive at all.
I can't tell you for sure. What I can tell you is that the
best thing Yahoo! has done is the blue color on their page.
You can't copy that. Otherwise, maybe this is a Brave New
World where pride never goes before a fall.

PS: Many thanks to Barb! and Wexler. I enjoy your posts.
