With Blacks and Hispanics starting to be more active at the polls we may see the Republicans finally deciding to move more to the center if they want to survive.

I doubt Rs will move to the center. I think there is more going on than just politics. This country is going thru a significant demographic change and I think that that colors the politics of today. Rs seem very threatened by these changes, and as much as the principle figures in the GOP bemoan the far right antics, they nonetheless cater to them.

Having said that, I curious why the center seems appealing to you? If anything I think this country needs to move to the left of center. I think its the center right tilt of this country that helps gives these extremist conservatives so much power. I think if their wings don't get clipped, this country will be in a lot more trouble than it already is.
