Emotional night looms for 49ers, fans
Rice to return, Jones to retire, Montana to be honored Monday
ASSOCIATED PRESS

SAN FRANCISCO - Imagine the reception when Jerry Rice, back from
a serious knee injury, runs onto the field for pregame
introductions.

Add the halftime tribute to four-time Super Bowl winner Joe
Montana, whose No. 16 jersey will be retired. Then there's Brent
Jones playing in his last regular-season home game for the San
Francisco 49ers before retiring. In the midst of all that emotion,
the 49ers (12-2) take on the Denver Broncos (11-3) in a game that
could determine the playoff seedings of both teams while providing
a possible Super Bowl preview.

Be sure and root for the 49ers on Monday Night football. They
(and the Green Bay Packers) represent our last best hope for a
1998 bull market. The NFL predictor (bull market if a team from
the NFL pre-AFL merger wins the Super Bowl) has proven to be very
accurate. The Cowboys may be America's team but the 49ers/Packers
carry the banner for Wall Street this year. Besides, the Niners
are MY team.<g>
