Obama finally gets off golf course, urges Israel not to retaliate, forgets how to say 'Hamas' and

Israel Matzav | 6/30/14 | Carl in Jeruslaem

President Hussein Obama has left the golf course long enough to urge Israel not to retaliate against the 'Palestinians' for the murder of Eyal Yifrach, Gil-Ad Shaer, and Naftali Frenkel '– who held Israeli and American citizenship.' (I wonder whether Jen Psaki gave him the name). This is from the first link.

US President Barack Obama expressed his condolences Monday evening to the three bereaved families: "On behalf of the American people I extend my deepest and heartfelt condolences to the families of Eyal Yifrach, Gil-Ad Shaer, and Naftali Frenkel – who held Israeli and American citizenship. As a father, I cannot imagine the indescribable pain that the parents of these teenage boys are experiencing."

He added: "The United States condemns in the strongest possible terms this senseless act of terror against innocent youth. I also urge all parties to refrain from steps that could further destabilize the situation. As the Israeli people deal with this tragedy, they have the full support and friendship of the United States."

Who committed 'this senseless act of terror' Mr. President?

Why aren't you condemning Hamas for committing it?

Why aren't you condemning the 'Palestinian Authority' for celebrating it, thereby encouraging the next such act?

Why did your State Department earlier today commend Abu Bluff for his 'help'? Why don't you even apologize for the fact that the two prime suspects were both released from Israeli prisons as part of the terrorists for Gilad trade?

Constitutional Lawyer In The White House Out To Destroy The Constitution
...................................................................................................................
July 1, 2014 by leomcneil

Remind me what Constitutional law case President Obama was ever involved in before he took office.

His expertise in Constitutional law is limited to pontificating about cases and leading classroom discussions as an adjunct law professor. Why does the White House insist on calling Obama a Constitutional lawyer every time they disagree with the Supreme Court? Do they really think calling him as such negates the fact that the Court is made up of practicing Constitutional lawyers? Likely they’re counting on the low information voter not realizing the Court is made up of Constitutional lawyers or that Obama was never actually a Constitutional lawyer. Take your pick.

The President has declared he’s going to have to “fix” the immigration system all by himself. This after Speaker John Boehner allegedly told Obama that the House wouldn’t vote on any immigration bills this year. What does the Constitutional lawyer in the White House imagine he is going to do about fixing the immigration system unilaterally? Sen. Dick Durbin has suggested Obama will “ borrow” the power. From whom exactly? There is no Constitutional provision allowing the President to borrow power from Congress or the Judicial branch. The branches are co-equal after all, despite progressive notions that the executive is supreme.

Because of Obama’s unilateral decision not to deport young illegals, the border is currently being flooded with tens of thousands of young people.

The border is an absolute mess right now, unsanitary and ripe with disease. The President has indicated he will shift border patrol agents down to the Mexican border. That is one of the few unilateral moves he can make, provided Congress hasn’t passed a law requiring troop levels in specific places. The question though is what will Obama actually do with these agents. Will they be used in a humanitarian effort, thus encouraging more children to come here or will they be used to deport and prevent return?

It wouldn’t surprise anyone if Obama signs an executive order that basically re-writes American immigration law. He’s already done so by ordering the Federal government to abide by the Dream Act, which was never passed by Congress.

What authority under the Constitution does the President derive the power to legislate? You would think the Constitutional lawyer in the White House would understand that the power to legislate is granted not to the executive branch but to the legislative branch. Only Congress has the power to write and pass laws. It’s the job of the President to enforce the laws passed by Congress. It has never been within the power of the President to write the law unilaterally.

Obama is both power hungry and a progressive. On the power hungry side of things he wants what he wants and he wants it now. He’s been critical of Constitutional government in the past, acknowledging his envy of the power Chinese dictators have. His real issue though is that he’s a progressive. Since the progressive movement began in the late 19th century their goal has been a powerful executive branch that essentially makes Congress irrelevant. Thus in his first term Obama whined about dealing with Congressmen from podunkville when he would rather be dictating to the country. Obama agrees with the progressive vision of an all powerful executive and a minimized and largely irrelevant Congress. His next move is to create precedent for unilateral executive action on a major issue of the day. If successful, the Constitution will essentially be finished.

American flag given to family of firefighter killed September 11 stolen from outside their home

RIP, Jonathan Ielpi.

  • Family pleads for return of stolen flag that was a gift in memory of family member killed at the World Trade Center September 11 attack
  • By Corey Charlton , 2 July 2014

The theft of an American flag from the family of a firefighter killed in September 11 is causing heartache as they desperately plead for its return.

The flag stolen from the front of Melissa Brengel's Long Island property was flown over the World Trade Center during the recovery and cleanup and was later gifted to her from the September 11 Families Association.

Her brother Jonathan Ielpi was a New York firefighter killed in the terrorist attacks on the morning of September 11, 2001.

Firefighter Jonathan Ielpi, left, was killed in the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center. His sister, Melissa Brengel is now pleading for the return of the flag that was given to her in his memory

NBC New York reported Mrs Brengel said the flag was still at the front of her property when she returned home about 10.30pm on Monday, but it had disappeared some time during the night.

'We put it out during certain times of the year just to remember,' she said. 'I don't think there's a way [the thief] could have known, but at the same time, they're coming onto my property and taking something that means so much to me and so many Americans.'

Jonathan Ielpi, 29, phoned his father Lee on the day of the attack to tell him he was en route to the site. He did not make it out of the south tower.
His father is also a firefighter and is a co-founder of Tribute WTC, which pays homage to the victims of the attack.

It is not the first time the insensitive handling of her brother's passing and his memory has caused heartache.

Last year Brengel was outraged after the cast member of a reality TV show was depicted in a photo shoot acting flippantly around her brother's memorial.

She was watching the Bravo reality TV show ‘Princesses: Long Island’ when she saw one of the cast members began to act imprudently around the statue of the firefighter who was her brother.

She later said she felt her blood boil: 'It may not be against the law to do it, but it is the most disrespectful and disgusting that I think you can do,' she said.

She now hopes the flag thief will hear of its significance, have a change of heart and return it.

Head backed for suspending boy because he made this 'Pop Tart gun'

    The Daily Mail ^ | July 1, 2014 | Joel Christie
An investigation has found that an elementary school principal in Baltimore who suspended a seven-year-old boy for chewing a Pop Tart into the shape of a gun acted properly in her decision.

However the boy's family has lawyered up, and are threatening to take the case further.

Josh Welch, a second-grader at Park Elementary School, said he was trying to nibble his strawberry breakfast snack into a mountain in March 2013.

But when it started to take shape he reportedly told his classmates: 'Look, I made a gun.'

Principal Sandra Blondell then removed Josh from school for two days.

Andrew Nussbaum, a lawyer who serves as a hearing examiner for several school systems surrounding Washington, submitted a 30-page report on Monday agreeing that Blondell was within her rights.

'As much as the parents want this case to be about a 'gun,' it is, rather, a case about classroom disruption from a student who has had a long history of disruptive behavior,' Nussbaum wrote in his opinion, according to CBS News.

'Had the student chewed his cereal bar into the shape of a cat and ran around the room, disrupting the classroom and making 'meow' cat sounds, the result would have been exactly the same.

Robin Ficker, an attorney for the Welch family, said that Josh may have had 'minor' disciplinary problems, but suspending him was taking the issue too far.

'It seems to me that schools need, with all their expertise and experience, they need to know how to deal with seven-year-old second-graders without putting them out of the educational setting,' Ficker told CBS.

'They need to deal with them rather than just throwing in the towel.

'If they can't deal with 7-year-olds, how can they deal with 17-year-olds?'

IRS Lawyers Ready for Busy Week Ahead
    ..........................................................................................
    Jul 3, 2014 • By STEPHEN F. HAYES

IRS lawyers ought to enjoy themselves this holiday weekend because, as the Washington Examiner's Mark Tapscott reports, "they'll be busier than normal next week." IRS counsel will make two separate appearances next week in court to explain and defend the agency's handling of Lois Lerner's now-missing emails.

Tapscott reports the IRS lawyers "will have to explain to U.S. District Court Judge Reggie Walton why the IRS shouldn't be required to let an outside expert evaluate whether emails on the computer hard drives of former IRS official Lois Lerner and six colleagues really are lost forever, as the agency recently told Congress. “Responding to a motion filed Monday by True the Vote, a Houston-based conservative nonprofit at the center of IRS targeting during the 2010 and 2012 campaigns, Walton issued an order Tuesday to hear arguments next week."

The IRS and its leaders have thus far avoided serious legal scrutiny.

The Department of Justice "investigation"—led by a high-dollar Obama donor, overseen by an attorney general who may be the most loyal of the Obama loyalists, who reports to a president who has already declared that there was not even a "smidgen" of corruption
    —has predictably yielded little.

With others now reviewing the evidence, that could change.

Pro-Amnesty Crowd Burns American Flag at Murrieta on 4th of July

    breitbart.com

MURRIETA -- An American flag has reportedly been burned by pro-amnesty protesters near the Murrieta Border Patrol station on America’s Independence Day. Breitbart News obtained the above photograph, which shows a burnt flag on the ground, from an anti-illegal immigration activist who was monitoring the pro-amnesty demonstration.

Opponents of illegal immigration had gathered in Murrieta to stop Friday's planned transfer of Central American illegal aliens, as they did earlier this week. A pro-amnesty counter-demonstration was organized in response.

The illegal aliens, many of them unaccompanied children, are being brought from overcrowded Texas detention facilities for processing in California.

In addition, Breitbart News obtained photographs of torn-up flags that pro-amnesty demonstrators had impaled on a fence.

Bonnie Lewis, an anti-immigration activist, told Breitbart News that she saw one of the pro-amnesty activists dragging an American flag on the ground.

"I said: 'Hey, don't do that.' He said: 'That's where it belongs,'" she said.

Another anti-illegal immigration activist said that pro-amnesty demonstrators called her a "f***ing whore" i Spanish, and shouted, "F*** America!"

Obama’s Secret Directive Supporting Global Islamism
    ........................................................................................
July 4, 2014 by Raymond Ibrahim
    frontpagemag.com

Raymond Ibrahim, a Middle East and Islam specialist, is author of Crucified Again: Exposing Islam’s New War on Christians (2013) and The Al Qaeda Reader (2007 Ibrahim’s dual-background—born and raised in the U.S. by Coptic Egyptian parents born and raised in the Middle East—has provided him with unique advantages, from equal fluency in English and Arabic, to an equal understanding of the Western and Middle Eastern mindsets, positioning him to explain the latter to the former.

A recent Gulf News report sheds some light on how and why the United States helped bring the Muslim Brotherhood and its Islamist allies to power, followed by all the subsequent chaos and atrocities in the Mideast region.

Large portions of the report follow with my commentary interspersed for added context:

Dubai: For the past decade, two successive US administrations have maintained close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, Tunisia, Syria and Libya, to name just the most prominent cases.

The Obama administration conducted an assessment of the Muslim Brotherhood in 2010 and 2011, beginning even before the events known as the “Arab Spring” erupted in Tunisia and in Egypt. The President personally issued Presidential Study Directive 11 (PSD-11) in 2010, ordering an assessment of the Muslim Brotherhood and other “political Islamist” movements, including the ruling AKP in Turkey, ultimately concluding that the United States should shift from its longstanding policy of supporting “stability” in the Middle East and North Africa (that is, support for “stable regimes” even if they were authoritarian), to a policy of backing “moderate” Islamic political movements (italics added for emphasis throughout).

And we have certainly witnessed this shift. Chaos and the Islamic ascendancy in the Middle East and North Africa never flourished as under the Obama administration—and precisely because the administration shifted from supporting stability under secular-minded autocrats.

The most significant example of this is how the Obama administration threw Hosni Mubarak—a U.S. ally for three decades—under the bus in order to support the Islamists, most specifically the Muslim Brotherhood. And we saw how that ended—with another revolution, hailed as the largest revolution in human history, with the average Egyptian accusing Obama of being a terrorist supporter.

To this day, PSD-11 remains classified, in part because it reveals an embarrassingly naïve and uninformed view of trends in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region.

“Embarrassingly naïve and uninformed view” is synonymous with the “orthodox and mainstream view pushed forth by Mideast studies professors and academics,” especially those with political influence, such as the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies of Georgetown University, in Washington D.C.

Such programs, which I’m only too well acquainted with, begin with false—that is, “embarrassingly naïve and uninformed”—premises, namely: that the source of all the region’s woes are (formerly) U.S.-propped autocrats (reality is that dictators don’t create such societies but rather are the natural outcome of Islamic societies and are the ones most prone to keeping law and order—compare Iraq under Saddam and Iraq now, as a “democracy,” with “ISIS” proclaiming a caliphate).

Mideast academics have also long spearheaded the idea that there are “moderate” Islamists and “radical” Islamists, and that the U.S. should work with the former (in reality they are all radical—to be an Islamist is to be radical—the only difference is that the “moderate” Islamists don’t wear their radicalism on their sleeves, even as they work toward the same goals that the more open “radicals” work for, namely, a Sharia-enforcing caliphate).

The revelations were made by Al Hewar centre in Washington, DC, which obtained the documents in question.

This too is significant. As Daniel Greenfield writes: “Al-Hewar, which actually got hold of the documents, is linked to the International Institute of Islamic Thought… which is a Muslim Brotherhood front group. Figures in the Muslim Brotherhood had threatened to leak understandings with Obama Inc. This is the next best thing. It warns Obama that if he tries to forget about them, they can prove that the relationship was official policy.”

To be sure, after the ousting of the Brotherhood in Egypt, several Brotherhood members made, sometimes not so veiled, threats to the Obama administration if it turned its back on them, including top ranking Brotherhood member, Khairat al-Shatter’s son.

Through an ongoing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit, thousands of pages of documentation of the US State Department’s dealings with the Muslim Brotherhood are in the process of being declassified and released to the public.

If and when these thousands of pages are released, they should be combed through, as no doubt answers to many of the Obama administration’s hitherto inexplicable policies in the Middle East will be found—to wit:

US State Department documents obtained under the FOIA confirm that the Obama administration maintained frequent contact and ties with the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood.

At one point, in April 2012, US officials arranged for the public relations director of the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood, Mohammad Gaair, to come to Washington to speak at a conference on “Islamists in Power” hosted by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

Indeed, despite the administration’s later insistence that it did not favor the Islamists over other parties, anecdotes implying otherwise were constantly on display. In Egypt alone, U.S. ambassador Anne Patterson, due to her close ties not just to President Morsi, but the Muslim Brotherhood in general, became such a hated figure in the months before last year’s anti-Brotherhood revolution.

A State Department Cable classified “Confidential” report says the following: “Benghazi Meeting With Libyan Muslim Brotherhood: On April 2 [2012] Mission Benghazi met with a senior member of the Muslim Brotherhood steering committee, who will speak at the April 5 Carnegie Endowment ‘Islamist in Power’ conference in Washington, D.C. He described the Muslim Brotherhood’s decision to form a political party as both an opportunity and an obligation in post-revolution Libya after years of operating underground.

These documents on the Obama administration’s connections with the Muslim Brotherhood in Libya are especially disturbing in the context of earlier revelations made in Arabic media, including that the Brotherhood’s Libyan wing was very much involved in the 9/11 Benghazi U.S. consulate attack.

Another State Department paper marked “Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU)” contained talking points for Deputy Secretary of State William Burns’ scheduled July 14, 2012 meeting with Mohammad Sawan, the Muslim Brotherhood leader who was also head of the Brotherhood’s Justice and Construction Party. The document is heavily redacted, but nevertheless provides clear indication of Washington’s sympathies for the emergence of the Muslim Brotherhood as a major political force in the post-Gaddafi Libya. The talking points recommended that Secretary Burns tell Sawan that the US government entities “share your party’s concerns in ensuring that a comprehensive transitional justice process is undertaken to address past violations so that they do not spark new discontent.”

“To address past violations so that they do not spark new discontent” is another way of stating another popular position among Mideast professors, namely that whenever Islamists engage in violence or terrorism, that is proof positive that they have a legitimate grievance, hence the US must “appease” lest it “spark new discontent” (perhaps the true backdrop of Benghazi).

The Burns paper described the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood: “Prior to last year’s revolution, the Muslim Brotherhood was banned for over three decades and its members were fiercely pursued by the Gaddafi regime.

In light of all the chaos the Islamists have been responsible for in Libya, Iraq, Egypt, Syria, et al—is it now obvious why Arab autocrats like Gaddafi, Saddam Hussein, Hosni Mubarak, and currently Bashar Assad have always “banned” and “fiercely pursued” the Brotherhood and its affiliates?
