I think the Japanese SHOULD have nukes. We ALL know the Chinese have a bunch of nukes. I'd rather have a powerful ally in Japan rather than just an ally that depends totally on us to protect them. We had our chance in 1945 to prevent nuclear proliferation but we blew it. Patton wanted to go to war with Russia right then along with many other people. If we had listened to Patton we could have taken out the Russians and they would never have taken Eastern Europe and they would never have had nukes and there would never have been a cold war.
