Do you know the difference between 300 ppm and 400 ppm? One one hundredth of one percent. That's literally the difference in water vapor between a dew point of -24F and -22F at standard temperature and pressure.

In the computation you reference (illustrated below), what I love are the gray areas. They don't count that in the average. It's mostly sea ice. Too bad, since global sea ice is +1 standard deviation above the 30-year average.

NOAA fudges data. We know that. Those stories have been presented on this board. Consider the temperature of all of Australia and the Pacific Ocean and other remote areas of the Earth from the late 1880's. Weather models, albeit extremely helpful, can't forecast beyond 5 days. And if we can recreate the past so well, why can't we forecast impending El Nino's within 3 months?
