Welcome back Brother Thean. Regarding Second Choice, I plugged in a number of our favorite stocks this am and found little change since last week....except one surprise. The following is for GLM

COMMENT

Moving Average Convergence/Devergence (MACD) indicates a BEARISH TREND
Chart pattern indicates a STRONG DOWNWARD TREND
Relative Strength is BEARISH
Up/Down volume pattern indicates that the stock is under DISTRIBUTION
The 50 day MOVING AVERAGE is falling which is BEARISH
The 200 day MOVING AVERAGE is rising which is BULLISH
WATCH FOR RESISTANCE AT 29.11
Stochastics indicate stock is OVERSOLD

RECOMMENDATION

STOCK IS A SHORT SALE CANDIDATE; STOCK IS OVERSOLD; WAIT FOR RALLY TO SHORT STOCK
IF YOU ARE LONG; CLOSE POSITION OR MONITOR STOCK CLOSELY

That would be the Right Rev. Simmons. Welcome back to the flock son. And thanks to the congregation for all those words of encouragement to our brother who temporarily strayed from our fold.

I see he has wasted no time in resuming his particular style of T&A and commentary. I still don't understand it, but I like to read it.

For what it's worth, I have found one particular benefit to this forum that has been most helpful to me. Having all of you guys and dolls scouring the cyberverse for tidbits of info regarding our beloved sector is very useful. There is just too much cyberspace out there for one person to cover.

All the snippits and links are great. It's like a giant scavenger hunt for information. Thanks to all for contributing these info-bites.

For any folks who think the multitude of posts are a waste of time, I suggest not reading them. The congregation DOES like to visit. Maybe there are other congregations more to your liking.

Thean

Welcome back. I'm late answering Rev Mike's call, but I was out of pocket yesterday. I love this thread, and its guys like you, glenn, greg Mike , Bill , LT and a host of others that make it great. I've been reading it regularly for 6 months. As some others have said you are willing to make assertive statements and I guess if folks like bry want to use the thread as a contrarian indicator, fine. Keep it up. Glad you reconsidered. I dont post much because I dont know much, but I'd hate to see the good folks like you back off. I guess its the old bromide that one should either lead, follow or get the hell out of the way.

Thean: As usual, procrastination has paid off. I was going to write a lengthier post thanking you for pointing me in the TA direction and asking you to stay, but our motley crew beat me to it. TA and your analysis is the only reason I was able to preserve my gains in the drillers this year (twice), and I thank you sincerely for it (so does Uncle Sam). I'm getting pummeled and bruised trying to catch the bottom, but I've decided to hunker down and wait for the turn...

Do I hear the faint sound of "Allelujah's" in the distance?? <G>

C Prazdnukom!

Happy Holidays, Pa Russkie

Thean, I have to say this...

If anything, you have called the recent turnaround very accurately(along with Tingle Toes Mike and the mysteriuos "pie" technique) Apparently, Bry is one of those "im"posters that shoot the wounded and don't stay to help.

OTH Bry, I did find useful information in your posts and i agree with you that sector rotation may indeed be happening...especially last Friday. I noticed that some large blocks moved on these stocks on and off all day on Friday. I posted some end of day buy/sell but really there was big activity blocks in a lot of stocks early in the day when the stock hit support lines...I would like to see ALL post here but keep the personal attacks out of the discussion, Please...

I have set my stochastics to the following parameters: 3 pies, ten toes, 5 crank posts

When the moving average of pies eaten daily diverges with ten tingling toes AND the number of rising crank posts meet on the same day...BUY! Another important TA factor is the accumlation/distribution of emotion. When the weeping reaches flood stage...BUY! When the euphoria reaches maximum band width...SELL!

Forget the candlesticks<g>

Best thread I've found, (still)

Dave

Thean, Although I've only been following this thread for a while
I hate to see any siginificant poster think of leaving. Actually,
I would like to recommend you look at the Micron thread for posts
by Bateman and responses to him if you want to see what people in
other threads have to put up with. It makes this thread appear
very civilized by comparison. Micron is in the Semiconductor
area if you wish to check it out. The guy is one of the biggest
pains in SI. Be thankful you have such a good mix of participants
here.

There will be times when opinions are strong and one should expect
that. It's the baiting and name calling that are useless. Don't
let minor annoyances bother you.

I appreciate your posts. BTW my only position is in MDCO in this
group. I am mostly in cash, but in no hurry to jump in with the
present crisis mentality permeating the markets.
