But why would it? The split was announced a long time ago. I would have been shocked if it wasn't approved.

That is not necesarily a bad thing. 18 months ago CPQ was at $16 (thats $8 after the next split). That was during the summer when all the analysts were writing about the death of tech. Intel (split adj) was $32 then and analysts said it was not at the bottom, that it would drop another $10 -- (it never went lower than 32).
