It may be 'whistling past the graveyard' but some folks are speculating in public that a one or two vote GOP edge in the Senate may actually be a 'good' thing re. Dem. prospects for 2016.

For one thing, the GOP will clearly (likely in the public's view) 'own' the Congress... currently at all-time record lows (single digits) in public esteem.

The meme of a 'do nothing Congress' might sink in, and with a vengeance.

Especially if they devolve into a bad spat of internecine party warfare and can't keep their more extreme elements down.

Of course it would also mark probably a total freeze in confirmations of all kinds for at least the two years until the next election.

And... the President's veto pen would be warmed up... right now he has banked the LOWEST total number of vetoes of *any* modern President.
