Had lunch today at THE MINT and Indian restaurant. Not many customers it being the 4th but it had a lot of native Indians and I was reminded about the Caste system in India at one time. Of course I made friends with all of them at the buffet bar ( incidentally on Friday's they have Cocoanut soup that is to die for and Rice pudding also. Funny incident. The waiters were watching the World Cup and I spoke with this one and asked who had won and he said Germany. Then I asked if India had a team and he said I don't know. Then he added. I am Mexican. smile. Man's inhumanity to man... Our actual hate for one another, our lack of tolerance and compassion always amaze me. You know the word Christian if it truly were Christian would obviate most of the things that the Religious Right accept in this country. Would Christ had gone to war in Iraq ? Would he water board persons ? Every human being to me at least has value and even though I am 83 I remember an elderly Aunt when I was a child who said about the second world war. If a Black man's blood would save your life would you turn it down. Maybe it was sayings like this that resulted in my befriending the Jewish kids in school when growing up and then identifying so with Blacks. My therapist said when we broached the subject at one point in my life... it's because it makes you feel superior. But that it not the case. I am an underdog love if not an underGod lover. Thanks for the response.
