geez what a brutal "tackle" that was that broke Neymars vertebrae. on the plus side what an incredible free kick from David Luiz. I can't remember seeing anyone firing a knuckleball shot like that with the inside of the foot before. A toe kick or full on straight footed hit maybe, but that shot was incredible imo. his penalty shot vs Chile was another exhibit of his ball striking skill. a truly exceptional talent. hard to believe a country with that many great players doesn't have an almost equally as good striker as Neymar they can bring into the next game. that said, where is the usual Brazilian magic? sure not showing up so far. Hulk was very enterprising and impressive, but there's a few players who aren't doing much. starting to wonder why Fred is even on the pitch. well hopefully the game vs Germany will be entertaining.

no i did not missed it and THAT makes my point about two things i have mentioned earlier..... 1.- the referees ... not only are BAD (and for practical purposes) BLIND and STUPID.... i thought the south africa WC had the worst referees.... that was NOTHING to what we have seen in this cup.... 2.- remember the OUTRAGE about the stupid bite from suarez.... LOL ! what a bunch of fucking MORONS A BITE..... BFD (big fucking deal) -OH but it is "socially unacceptable"... i would take a BITE ANY day before i get a vertabrea BROKEN by A KNEE.... and that SOB zapata player DESERVES far worse than what luis suarez got..... lol... this is the PROOF (and i am VERY SORRY about neymar jr. whose injury is proving the point) that all these arseholes who thing they can improve social behavior by injecting these 'artificial' (and false) standards based in stupidity, not in REAL LOGIC... i mean... they banned suarez for 9 games and FOUR months for acting like a stupid and childish MORON.... YET... they say NOTHING.. NOT A BEEP... about a foul by zapata on neymar that did not need be.... yet it broke his back...... FTS anyway.... the games and the teams.... germany 1 x 0 france sort of a boring game until about the last 30 minutes in which all of a sudden the french realized they were about to be kicked out..... yet... they missed just about every opportunity they had to equalize..... and the germans..... oh my dog.... these guys are vying for WC champions... ? they missed as much as the french..... and they were basically LUCKY, the french missed out so much.... oh well.... germany will go against brasil.... brazil 2 x 1 colombia well... a disappointment for me.... i thought the colombians played very nervous because they were playing brasil.... and i have to say.. brasil's defense was impecable.... they were always ahead of the colombians, they played much better than before, and the colombians did the reverse....... the early hol by brasil stunned the colombians and they just could not shake it away......by the time colombia decided to be more aggressive and tried to score.... they were down by 2 as mentioned earlier... the referee allowed a lot of ill intentioned fouls and by not issuing the due yellow cards, he allowed this to go on, and on..... and eventually led to neymar's injury..... so for those critics who claim that 'futbol players are a bunch of prima-donnas and like to dramatize their falls' OBVIOUSLY they have never played.... and yes, futbol is a CONTACT sport and the only "protective equipment" used are shin-guards..... and..... contact at speed is PAINFUL... so yes, there are many players who indeed they just 'dive' and 'make the play for the penalty'... but there are MANY times that the pain faces are for real.... and true it takes some good eye and knowledge of the game to make the difference between acting and real pain...... oh but there is ..... INSTANT REPLAY.... which FIFA REFUSES to adopt.... (who knows WHY).... anyway.... we now have the first semifinal.... brasil v germany brasil as it were, they have been struggling.... without neymar.... it will be a difficult game..... hopefully, they can draw their best and beat the germans..... as for the other quarter finals...... i believe argentina will beat belgium....... and while i know the dutch are the overwhelming favorite against costa rica...... i will root for the ticos...... and it may be the surprise of the cup...... to be honest.... i was disappointed in these first two quarter finals games....... so maybe the costa rica v holland will make up for today's disappointment...... good vibes sent to neymar jr...... hope he heals quickly.....
