Does your daughter share her love life with her boss? If the boss is going to pay for her birth control, he is going to know a lot about it.

What woman would WANT her boss to know all about her sex life? And how can the boss not know when he's paying for her birth control?

While we're at it, what kind of woman wants the government to know all that too?

Voter fraud? Boston reports 129% voter turnout, 79% for Obama; 74% for Elizabeth Warren

Mystery solved? See Updates

Something screwy happened in Boston. The election results indicate 129% turnout of registered voters. 129%???!??!?!

here’s a screenshot from the election results (PDF):

Check out Ward 18:

Precinct 1:132.24% turnout; 97.15% for ObamaPrecinct 2: 139.20% turnout; 98.91% for ObamaPrecinct 3: 140.80% turnout; 98.57% for ObamaIt goes on and on and on like that, and it’s the same for the Elizabeth Warren results. I don’t imagine that Romney would have won Massachusetts (which is a bluer than blue state). However, Scott Brown lost by a much slimmer margin to Elizabeth Warren, and vote totals like these could very well have swung the election results.

I understand that the PDF says these are the “Unofficial Results” but I want to know where the official results are, and if everything’s ok there, how do they explain these numbers and the discrepancy?

Philly had results like these too in the very same precincts that kicked out Republican poll watchers.

UPDATE: An astute reader points out that the results also show the number of actual votes counted versus “cards cast.” Those numbers seem far more believable than the numbers under the turnout column. This still leaves me scratching my head as to why there is such a giant discrepancy between the number of cards cast and the number of votes. Essentially, there appear to be on average 2 cards cast for every vote counted, in which case actual voter turnout would be almost exactly half of what this chart is indicating.

Why would there be twice the number of cards cast as actual votes?

UPDATE 2: A reader from Boston wrote and told me that the ballots there were two pages, which would possibly account for the number of cards cast. Also, a poll worker on Reddit confirmed that “cards cast” would indeed line up with the number of pages on the ballot.

So, actual voter turnout in Boston was somewhere closer to 64.5%, not 129%. The number of votes cast backs this up. Best-case scenario would be that whoever prepared the “Unofficial Results” screwed up the turnout columns by counting each ballot page as a voter.

In this case, the 79% Obama vote wouldn’t necessarily be fraudulent. It would just indicate that Boston is full of liberal zombies. Even in the case of a simple clerical error, however, the confidence in the result gets greatly diminished.

“Useful idiots” college professors discover the reality of Obamacare
Posted on July 6, 2014 by Dr. Eowyn
The term “ useful idiots” refers to people who serve as propagandists for a political causewhose goals they are not fully aware of, and who are used cynically by the leaders of the cause. The term originated in reference to sympathizers and fellow travelers of Soviet communism, who naïvely believed in the socialist ideological cause but were actually held in contempt and cynically used by the Communist Party of Soviet Union for subversive activities in their native Western countries.

Professors Suddenly Don’t Like ObamaCare EitherInvestor’s Business Daily editorial of June 27, 2014

After years of singing the praises of universal health care, college professors are now shocked at how badly it has turned out — for them.

Adjunct professors are steamed at the way their employers are interpreting the AffordableCare Act’s employer mandate, which forces them to cover full-time but not part-timeworkers. Typical of liberals, they blame their employers instead of the job-killing law they supported.

__________

Note: Unlike permanent “ladder” faculty, adjunct professors are hired on a year-by-year basis to teach full or part time, which means adjuncts have no job security.

__________

Starting Jan. 1, ObamaCare makes employers offer all full-time workers health insuranceor pay a fine. In response, hundreds of colleges have simply cut instructors’ course loads to dodge coverage. Others are thinking about laying off untenured faculty by the thousands.

Take the University of North Carolina state system.

Faced with $47 million-a-year unfunded ObamaCare liability, the 17-campus system has asked the state for the OK to create its own health program. It says it can’t afford to pay its 8,586 non-permanent workers ObamaCare’s essential benefits package, at $5,400 a pop.

The jobs of graduate and teaching assistants, visiting professors and student employees are on the block. The other option is raising tuition, but President Obama is cracking down on colleges over student debt.

“This is an unfunded mandate that’s coming down on us,” UNC System COO Charlie Perusse complained. No kidding. Belatedly, academia is waking up to the business realities of ObamaCare.

Most colleges rely heavily on adjuncts, who’re hired on a contractual basis rather than being tenured in a permanent position. But ObamaCare removes that cost savings by forcing colleges to offer generous health-care benefits for them if they teach more than 29 hours a week.

Colorado Mountain College employs 600 adjuncts at a relative bargain. Though it has six times more adjuncts on staff than full-time professors, they absorb half the budget of full-timers. But now it also is having to cut adjuncts to avoid being hammered by ObamaCare.

The American Association of University Professors says it’s “dismayed” by the ObamaCare-tied cutbacks, calling them “reprehensible.” A Stark State College adjunct professor facing cuts at his Ohio institution whines that it should cover part-time workers, too. “It goes against the spirit of the law,” says the English prof.

Complained another adjunct: “The university canceled one of my courses. The reason was to avoid having to give me any benefits due to the Affordable Care Act.”

Welcome to the real world.
