No, Tim, they are messed up because of the cut in spending.

Many of them didn't cut spending, others had very modest cuts. Nothing that even a purely Keynesian understanding of the situation would consider strong enough to explain their current economic situation.

Tim, the blame wasn't always on excessive gov't spending; to whit, Spain.


Spain had excessive government spending in addition to its other problems. Italy even more so, Greece still more.

many of those countries were run by conservatives who cut spending..

None of them cut spending before the recession, some might have slowed down the growth of spending, but it still continued upwards
