We just need to organize our discussion better. E.G. I think it is mandatory to keep the conversation to that of a personal god. That is what Christian's and Muslims are talking about.

Not some great spirit in the sky that cares nothing about us.

Einstein made it clear he did not believe in a personal god.

I have already stated my position defining an atheist:

Everyone is always in one of three states of mind: belief, doubt or disbelief (Charles Pierce).

People have no choice over their states of mind.

It is impossible to know for sure, so IMNSHO that cannot even be part of the equation. Only a stupid person would say they know for sure.

“everyone who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the Universe—a Spirit vastly superior to that of man.” - Einstein >.

Two things here:

1) Once again, most people are talking about god as a personal god. There is no way the above statement reaches that level. But again, that sentence once again, would work well to throw the god squad off his trail.

2) There may well be a spirit vastly superior to man in the universe. In fact spirits superior to man are probably pervasive in the universe. I think this is what Einstein was talking about and once again it is a great statement to throw those who would burn an atheist at the stake off the scent.
