Progressive economic populism .." the key words. given a nice lead time to 2016, I think there will be a lot of soul searching before the voting booth. as points of ref.: considering Walgreens is considering going back a "to Chicago" from its present Chicago suburban location move before its shareholders meeting http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20140508/business/140508485/ also, look at Caterpillar news (relocate Switzerland) this past April. "Caterpillar Defends Move To Avoid $ 2.4B In Federal Taxes" (maybe not kinda weird that Rand Paul was of mention here defending Caterpillar .. if I were a resident of Kentucky that would raise the hackles on the back of my neck). http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2014/04/01/senator-says-caterpillar-avoided-billions-in-taxes/ S o happens 2 Illinois (my own native state) companies are of mention but it gives the impression that corporate participation in paying their fare share of income taxes is on the wane. Like in the late 50's or so, I think the corporate portion of federal income tax was in the mid 30% .. & most recently I read it is around 7 -. 8% forgive me if I error a% or 2, but realize what is happening here. Who gets stuck with the bill? The Middle Class is more stressed than yesterday, and the day before yesterday, and the day .... Then again, I am seeing prisons absent Wall Street Bankers, the 'credit rating agencies', mortgage brokers, whatnot, the very ones that shook capitalism to its core. Why a 2- tier system of justice? It flies in the face of what we think is "America"...justice & fairness to all. The base core of a healthy middle class. Maybe it is time to revisit the tax code. End the folly of corporate income taxes. Even Forbe's flat tax ideas should be revisited. In the least, it is easier to live with a fair taxing system than the screwed up. Bill Clinton being disparaged? In 2000, the nat'l debt was projected to be ZERO 2012. somehow Bush1's 1990 tax law & Clinton's 1993 tax law were effective enough to retire all the debts of the 30's depression (Roosevelt's social structure), WWII, Korea, the Cold War, VietNam, Johnson's "Great Society", & Reagans war on the world. The world be very different without the Republican Party and it's vile poisons. The American voter was/is stupid as stupid can be. Maybe Warren can help change that. I don't know.
