People do drugs and alcohol to escape reality.

i think that there is an enormous difference on the one hand... what is known as 'recreational drugs', i.e. cocaine, heroine, marihuana, and whatever other damned drugs people use..... and on the other hand.... coffee, hard liquor, (gin, rum, scotch, vodka etc), and then beer & wine.... of course, common sense moderation plays a part.....

reality is what it is... and reading the news has become at least for me.... futile, because there is not much i can do to change the overwhelming lack of honesty, and work ethic..... so i am relatively fortunate to be able (with a lot of limitations) to have created a small relative 'immune corner' in the crazy world we live..... from the immense number or deranged retards (aka political leaders) who influence negatively, and on a daily basis, the world in which we live...

using the 'escape from the crazy world' reasoning as justification to do drugs is moronic... it is like saying... the world is fucked up, therefore I will fuck MYSELF up some more.... -lol

of course the last two presidential elections, (but more particularly the last one) in which clearly the people made their choice for the biggest idiot i have ever come across as a politician... a first class liar, hypocrite, and general scumbag... but people elected him, and it appears the msm support him..... on the other hand the other set of clowns from the other party are not much better.... so to keep sanity.... i just try to ignore the overall IDIOCRACY that has evolved, under an increasing tyrannical government who basically is led by a bunch of outrageous criminals. their leader is a clear enemy of this country, based on his deeds, not his words. however, the powers that be seem to be "ok with all this."

i suppose watching sports is a form of escape, for me futbol has deep roots with me... but even then.. i only do this every 4 years.... i view it as entertainment.... as i said earlier i appreciate the skills of the players, and enjoy watching the crazy things fans do....

as for creating 'world harmony'.. -lol i think the odds are better of life in a distant planet...
remembering that..... h.l. mencken said.... the cynics are right nine times out of ten.....

Being informed about the world is an incredibly taxing and heartbreaking state of mind.

well.... one thing is 'being informed' -which is fine by me.... but then, to suffer from anxiety (or similar) after "being informed" is something only each individual can control... being informed is good because then one can take decisions to avoid peril.... and it most certainly IS NOT a 'state of mind'. it is simply information you can use... (or not). but then... our job is take the information and do what is appropriate to enhance each of our individual lives... not to attempt to tell others to... 'live harmoniously' it is impossible to tell people what to do... SUCCESSFULLY.... (and even worse to attempt to control them)... people will do, what people will want to do.... and agonizing over such is basically self inflicted mental torture...

so...... i too watch the beautiful game and enjoy it.... world harmony be damned... -lol
