I wonder sometimes if you have ever heard of the words: "democracy and society'

Here is some sociology 101. In a democracy the people can vote to fund public schools and welfare and food stamps and all sorts of social programs.

You didn't know that? And it is not in conflict with the constitution, although I have found few (none) right wing pundits that seem to know that.

Davy Crockett died for his sins, way back in the 19th century. Some 20 years after he died, we ended slavery by appropriating many dollars of public money. Crockett has been replaced by people who understand we elect representatives to do exactly that.
