Procom Ranked Number One CD-ROM Tower Manufacturer

IRVINE, Calif. Dec. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Procom Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRCM - news), has ranked as
the top CD-ROM Tower manufacturer for both host attached and network attached types, according to the
latest Optical Disk Report from Disk/Trend.

In the ''1997 Optical Disk Drives'' report on CD format towers, Procom is reported to own 33% of the total
CD Tower market share. Procom ranked first among 25 other CD-ROM Tower companies including Meridian
Data, Microtest and Micro Design International. Procom's success has been attributed to its advanced
CD-ROM software called CD FORCE and it's Hyper-CD technology which gives Procom CD-ROM Towers
the fastest transfer speeds in the industry.

According to Procom Director of Product Management, Page Tagizad, ''Since Procom started offering
CD-ROM networking solutions about 3.5 years ago, our engineers have been committed to providing the latest
innovations including CD FORCE, the industry's most sophisticated cross platform software. We have worked
hard to provide customers with the highest quality of products that offer leading edge technology, high
performance and feature rich elements. Our Hyper-CD technology and embedded proprietary software, CD
FORCE, have been instrumental in maintaining customer satisfaction and gaining market share. With our recent
release of DataFORCE, the 10-disc, 53X CD-ROM networking solution, we aim to expand our entry level
market share.''

Procom's line of award-winning CD-ROM Tower options include a broad range of choices for fast data
retrieval including the company's new Hyper-CD 100X which matches fast/high performance hard drive access
times for CD-ROMs (The net result is reduced network congestion and increased productivity, which are the
largest problems associated with CD-ROMs). Procom's CD FORCE embedded server software when used in
conjunction with Procom's CD-ROM networking solutions, provides network administrators with unparalleled
flexibility in distributing CD-ROM based data. The introduction of DataFORCE(TM) sets new industry
standards for entry level CD-ROM networking solutions. Customers can now get entry level CD-ROM
solutions with high end performance and feature rich software, previously available only with the more
expensive high-end systems.

The Disk/Trend report also ranked Procom in the top three manufacturers of Optical Disk Libraries and
CD-Towers combined category. In revenues of unit shipments of CD-ROM format disk libraries and towers,
Procom placed above Pioneer, Meridian Data, Microtest, Plasmon Data, Eastman Kodak and more than nine
other leading manufacturers.

The "rumors" of U.S. Government contracts are
resurfacing, including a DOD contract. The details
when confirmed will be shared. The RAID technology
is the rumored application. PRCM has held up very
well in the recent tech slide with few sellers. Do you
think people feel they have a winner?

PRCM has held up very well? A winner?
That's what I thought before the stock dropped from 18 to the
14-15 level when the report come out ... the kicker is they beat estimate by a penny.
