Inode, contraception isn't that expensive. A condom is a dollar each. Birth control pills are $15-50/month, which is hardly a budget-buster for the middle class. Plan B is somewhere between $30-60 (my guess), which is reasonable given that it should only be used if something goes wrong, which is seldom.

If you can't afford that, you have bigger issues than trying to maintain your sex life.
