Thanks, Sam. I get your points. For me, it's all a huge tragedy becoming a worse one with each passing day. It won't ease your mind for me to say this but I trace it back to the 68 (I believe that date is correct) occupation which should not have happened. And the self reinforcing dynamics that set in place. I'm afraid I'm one of the host of folk who think there is a deal still to be made that lowers the tensions. But none happen and the level of hope is reduced with each subsequent failure. I actually thought Mitchell, given his negotiating skills from the northern Ireland settlement, would be able to pull it off. Looks naive now.
