I'll try to keep my response on a non-personal level. <smile> The graph was meant to emphasize how good Japan is doing. If you don't find it interesting, fine, but given the lead Japan has over other foreign countries, shouldn't it make us wonder why? It sure made me wonder. As a side issue, isn't it also interesting that even as we label Japan as being trapped for decades in what some seem to think of as an economic morass that still they are able to do such important R&D? No political statement there - just a curiosity. On an anecdotal note; my son just picked up a second masters degree from a major American University in IT. As a Caucasian he was in a tiny minority as almost all the graduates were foreign - most from India. Why?
