Nope, that's Hiram.

SteveG? I could give you 20 names, but as a trader, that might change before tomorrow's open. For a few ideas, you could take a peak at some other of my posts however.

<.. but I think Eric summed this up even...>

Well, we certainly have different tastes - and that's OK <g>

<Steve, you both maybe right so does it really matter...>

Not about the issues that I described.

<..Lets move on...>

As you like...

<.Your technical input is to valuable to be wasted on this...>

Thanks for the compliment.

<..& I don't have the time...>

Who does? Click when appropriate <g>

[Chat: Dug Re: Tech List]

Dug -

FWIW, I'm either into or closely watching the following:

1) (Closely watching) Believe it or not, I'm thinking about the Fidelity Select Electronic (FSELX) mutual fund. Why? When last checked, their #1 holding was ASMLF, and #2 was TXN. As I recall, about 9%-10% of FSELX was in ASMLF, and 7%-8% was in TXN. Not having large amounts of $$$ to buy everything I like, and really liking both of those companies, buying shares of FSELX might be a way to play the game. Not as fun as owning a company like AMTX, though!

2)ANIC - Anicom. ANIC sells wire, cable, connectors, and all kinds of related "stuff". They were formed by the Anixter Brothers, of Anixiter Wire & Cable fame. They built up Anixter W&C, and sold it off for big bux. The Bros know what they're doing. Fidelity Management & Research Company, Peter Huizenga, the president of Huizenga Capital Management (and a director of Anicom), and the Lincoln Fund LP recently bought 2.9 million shares in a private placement. Thinking back to all the times we had hoped that someone would do that with Amati, I think it's a very good sign. Plus, I know some people who work there, and they like ANIC a lot.

3) YURI - Yurie Systems. Yurie designs and makes ATM access concentrators. They have OEM agreements with LU, T and COMS, among others. I'm thinking that, with all of the convergence of multimedia, data and phone, and the build out of new networks, this could be a good one. Like most techs, its share price has been pounded from its October highs. In a rare display of bottom-feeding skills, I picked up some @ 17.75 last Friday. It's rebounded nicely.

4) ANAD - Anadigics. ANAD makes GaAs transmitter chips, used in wireless communications such as cellphones, PCS, and also DBS set-top boxes, and fiber-optics comm. systems. From the research I've done (probably not enough) their factory is going 24X7 pumping out product. In a more common display of my timing talent, I just bot some @ 34 1/2, and it promptly Amatied on me, dropping to the 22's, but has been rebounding smartly the last couple of days.

5) ORCL - Oracle. Jeeze, they miss their numbers by four pennies, and the stock gets ripped for 30%. They are the #1 RDBMS supplier, and are pushing their applications very hard. Also, I think they may be onto something with the Network PC thing. I have several friends who work for ORCL, and in fact am considering going there myself.

6) BLDPF - Ballard Power. I mentioned this one awhile ago. They make fuel cells for power generation. The technology can be used for mobile tranportation such as buses and cars, and stationary things like power plants. They control some key patents, seem to have a lock on the technology (remind you of AMTX??) They have Damlier Benz, Ford and others as major investors. The downside with BLDPF for me personally, is that I don't know squat about fuel cell technology; at least I can fake my way through computer/networking/communications technologies, and fool myself into thinking I have a clue about the viability of this or that company/product. With all of the long-overdue concern for the environment, I'm feeling (as opposed to thinking) this could be a good one.

Well, that's it for now. I'd appreciate constructive commentary.

Have a good nite,
Steve
