I don't know if y'all have seen this already, but I think this just came out yesterday. It's the PC Computing Magazine 1997 MVP results. In the category of "Internet Applications and Services," HotBot was the winner in the "Search Engines" sub-category! Excite and Infoseek were finalists. Guess who wasn't even a finalist? I'll give you a hint, its stock price is around 59 1/2. Hmmmm... zdnet.com. scott

I don't know where you got your numbers, or what's defined as an institution, but I've recently seen "float" numbers of 6.5 million shares (I also recently saw an 8 million figure, and I don't know if the issuance for the email service is the difference), but if 6.16 million is held by institutions, you're saying very few shares are rotating very quickly. RE: INSTITUTIONAL HOLDINGS 73 Institutions are holding 6.16 M shares as of Dec 14, 1997. 92 Institutions are holding 7.84 M shares as of Dec 25, 1997. If this data is correct, new Hedge funds are accumulating YHOO. This would seem to contradict the speculation that Hedge funds are keeping the price up to boost their year end performance -- wouldn't it?
