If the administration’s hostile and vicious rhetoric toward Israel is any indication, they’re one and the same. Obama has never hid his personal disgust for Israel, or his active promotion of all things and interests that would directly harm Israel. But on Tuesday, the administration’s rhetoric went beyond its normal disdain threshold, and into full unadulterated hatred. The Obama Administration went nuclear on Israel. The proof is in the words of Obama’s Middle East coordinator Philip Gordon, as reported by The Times of Israel. In an unusually harsh major foreign policy address, Philip Gordon, a special assistant to US President Barack Obama and the White House coordinator for the Middle East, appealed to Israeli and Palestinian leaders to make the compromises needed to reach a permanent peace agreement. Jerusalem “should not take for granted the opportunity to negotiate” such a treaty with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who has proven to be a reliable partner, Gordon said. Delivering the keynote address at the Haaretz newspaper’s Israel Conference on Peace, Gordon reiterated Obama’s position that a final-status agreement should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed land swaps. Gordon’s statements take outrage to new levels. The mere suggestion that it is Israel’s responsibility and place to “negotiate” with Hamas, whose sole purpose is to wipe Israel off the map, is egregious . Worse, this comes after a barrage of rockets, aimed at Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, have continued to bombard Israel, with no end in sight. As of Monday, some 200 such rockets have landed in Israel. But who does the world blame for the aggression? Israel alone. ]Article
