The recent Patriot Act and the FISA laws are a direct Constitutional violation in that they have suspended Habeus Corpus and opened the door to the unilateral detention without access to a lawyer, legal search and seizure without a court warrant, and assassination of American citizens without due process. It's all legal now and Obama has all of that power. What happens when we get a President who is far more malignant than Obama? He already has the infrastructure of tyranny at his disposal. Americans are so naive. We think nothing bad can ever happen here, because we're Americans. All great powers have been brought to their knees. I really hope and pray that we course correct and start respecting our Constitutional and the moral values it enshrines sooner rather than later. The longer it takes to course correct the higher the probability is that we will never turn back the tide.
