William, Re: buying calls. I suspect there is some short covering pressure out there and a traders short covering rally should occur soon. At least in some stocks, but who knows.

Bill, the VIX is a much broader indicator, therefore more reliable.

Also we have the expiration on Friday, and a substantial downdraft last week. Therefore I expect wild gyration.

Keep the powder dry.

In weeks of high volatility stay on the sidelines.
