I would take issue with the claim that Benen actually researches anything; generally, his posts are repetitions with minor rewrites of liberal perspectives on news articles of the day. His arguments may be presented well for those who aren't too thoughtful about both sides of issues, I couldn't say. But I find him to among the most run-of-the-mill bloggers, almost like someone picked off the street with no meaningful knowledge of the subject matter. More of an Ed Schultz styled attack dog. Which is fine, but it doesn't lead to any real understanding of the issues, imo. I am not surprised that that is your view. And I don't agree that what he does is simple or pedestrian. I think its a lot of work churning out 5 to 6 articles per day that are thoroughly researched and rarely have a typo 5 days a week from one's house in VT. He doesn't have a huge staff doing his bidding like Hannity. And he doesn't do angry and mean spirited like Hannity which I find extraordinarily offensive. I don't understand why the right is so angry but watching other winger pundits go after Glen Beck, one of their own, because he isn't trying to help the children getting shipped north to the US is very disturbing. Frankly, I find many on the right to be very toxic and suspect they will become more and more like the extremist Israeli Jews chanting racist slogans at a soccer game in the video I just posted. And so I support anyone who helps prevent the American right from taking over like the extremist Jews have taken over Israel.
