Hi Steve -

Re: SLW

For me, I would like a larger Cap resource stock that has exposure in all metals (Gold, Silver, Copper) and even iron ore. The SLW business model does not have years/decades to see if it works but you do get diversification over owning a specific Jr. miner.

My thought was to look at large Cap resource companies like FCX and/or AAUKY which are much larger companies that have been in business decades.

I have not dissected the SLW balance sheet so I am not sure how they book their royalty/sharing agreements and what liabilities they have for both gains and losses. I prefer to hold/own the actual asset(s) (ie operating mines) since some of those contracts may/could be hard to enforce being located in foreign countries where any litigation could/may be difficult and expensive.

EKS

I keep hearing that we need to remove SLW from the portfolio ...

Well, as things stand, any additions or removals of stocks are based on majority votes.
As things stand AAPL, with 4 votes, and ROC, with 3 votes, are ahead of SLW with 2 votes.
So, currently, SLW would remain in the SI Top 10 Portfolio.
