It's already being started in most countries. Lots of places are working towards 80%+ reduction in CO2 by 2050. I live in one of them. I don't know if we can do it, but we're not the US, so it won't fail due to lack of effort.

What we need is time. Killing Keystone means they have to figure out another way to get that tar to market.

That is time. We are most likely already past a tipping point for a disaster, so it is just a matter of how bad. It would be good for the kids if we could avoid a sulfuric atmosphere.

They cannot go west as Natives will not allow a pipeline to cross their land. So the don't have a quick and easy answer.

Solar, wind and the ocean, with new batteries can take us a long way toward reducing our need for carbon.

Imagine how far along we would be right now if Bush had put a trillion of that five trillion he pissed away into green energy, or better yet a couple of trillion.

I would have liked some spent on affordable public education.
