I was watching Bill Moyers last night who had Linda Greenhouse and Dahlia Lithwick, arguable the two most competent court watchers in the country. They were both in total agreement on every issue raised. They both said in no uncertain terms that the Roberts court is 100% operating as an arm of the extreme right wing Republican agenda. i.e.it is not following the constitution or established law at all. All of their decisions are agenda driven. They are both horrified by what they are seeing. So according to them we have entered a period is total lawlessness i.e. they are making law based on the extreme right wing agenda. I won't use the obvious analogy of what is happening. But it is a very dangerous time for the country. But I must add something to this. Dahlia Lithwich has also said, as I have posted in the past, that Obama has been lax in countering their tyranny (and it is nothing less than that) and the right wing in general, by not packing the court with liberal judges to counter them. Because he doesn't believe in it? The Republican presidents have been packing the court with Pat Robertson right wing judges for 40 years. This is the part of the Obama personality a few of us have been trying for years to convince the liberals on SI is a serious defect in Obama's administration. His strange behavior has not been an illusion. He is a constitutional scholar and should be able to see how dangerous the right wing and especially the right wing judges are, yet is has been fiddling while America burns. Liberals can no longer pretend, or deny this is not happening. None of us is able to challenge Dahlia Lithwick and Linda Greenhouise as they are the top thinkers in the nation regarding the court decisions and true blue liberal tellers of truth. Everyone should go watch the Bill Moyer's interview on the internet.
