nobody has claimed they ALONE would make a difference.... it is ell documented in this board the comments about messi being a great player is because of his team mates talent in barça.... and that argentina did not have the same talent..... argentina had a relatively easy path to get to the final and when it counted the most.... they screwed up royally in at least three occasions.... it would have been a great thing for the game if higuain would have scored.... that would have made the germans play with a lot more gusto and probably the match would have been better than it was.... the 'mythos' brasil still has 5 WC wins and they have a vast number of players to draw from... it is too early to say what team they will be able to pull for russia, but i would not summarily dismiss them yet
